Wydad Athletic has placed itself in a good position to win the first championship of the African Football League after a 2-1 victory against Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the final played in Morocco yesterday
Wydad's goals were scored by Rivaldo Coetzee in the 41st minute and the second half was scored by Anas Serrhat while Mamelodi got a goal in the 74th minute by Abdelmounaim Boutouil.
The second leg will decide the first AFL champion on November 12 at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe, South Africa
It is clear that the second match will be more difficult for Mamelodi as they have the memory of last season where they were kicked out of the African Champions League at the semi-final stage after being forced to draw 2-2 against Wydad in their home ground< /p>
