The first match of the African Football League between Simba and Al Ahly has ended at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium with the result of a 2-2 draw
It was a two-period game for Simba, the first half the team played slowly but increased speed in the second half and managed to score two goals
Al Ahly took the lead in the first half through a surprise attack scored by Slim
The entry of Sadio Kanoute and Jean Baleke in the second half added life to the attacking line and it was Kibu Denis who brought Simba back into the game with a header finishing off Clatous Chama's pass
Six minutes later, Kanoute added the second with a header after a corner kick from Saido
Kharaba scored the second goal for Al Ahly after another surprise attack when the Simba players argued with the Al Ahly referee and started the ball quickly
It was a tough match between the best teams, a draw could be a friendly result for each team
Simba now needs to prepare for the second leg which will be played on October 24 in Egypt
The Lions will need to win the second game or tie the opening three goals to qualify for the semi-finals
