President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Patrice Motsepe today introduced the trophy that will be awarded to the champion of the African Football League championship that starts today
Speaking to journalists in a special meeting earlier today, Motsepe said this tournament aims to enable African clubs to have economic power
He also said that from next season, this tournament will involve 24 teams where the criteria will be used by CAF 'rankings' and the success of the club in the domestic league
Simba and Al Ahly launch the championship today in the first quarter-final game to be played at Benjamin Mkapa stadium at 12 pm
