About 250 football leaders from different parts of the World is expected to start arrinving Dar es Salaam today to participate in the inaugural event of the African Football League (AFL) at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, October 20 which will involve a match between Simba and Al Ahly
The expedition led by the President of the World Football Confederation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino and the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe will involve the heads of various departments of the federations, presidents of associations and federations of football for all countries in Africa as well as the invited presidents of the federations of other continents
Acting Director of Sports Development, Ally Mayay said Tanzania is ready to receive the great guests who will participate in the inauguration ceremony
"All the presidents of African football associations and federations will be there, the CAF secretariat will be there. FIFA's senior officials will be here, so a delegation of more than 200 people will be here, they have already been asked for permits. Therefore, the government has already made requests in all the hotels big and full"
"We expect to have a very big activity that has brought big people in football in the world, so it is comfort and pride for the nation to receive such a big message," said Ally Mayay
Mayay said that the basic preparations for receiving the visit and the actual launch of the competition have largely been completed and what is being awaited now is the arrival of the leaders as well as the event itself
