Friday October 06 2023 in South Africa, the draw for the groups of the African champion club (CAF Champions League) and the Confederation cup in Africa (CAF Confederation Cup)
Tanzania as a country will be represented by two (2) teams of Simba and Yanga
The teams that have qualified so far in the groups of African champions are 15 which are Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad (Morocco), Pyramids (Egypt), TP Mazembe (DR Congo), Jwaneng Galaxy (Botswana), Petro de Luanda (Angola) ), Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia), Etoile Saleh (Tunisia) and Medema SC (Ghana)
Others are Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Yanga SC (Tanzania), Simba SC (Tanzania), FC Nouadhibou (Mauritania), Asec Mimosas (Ivory Coast) and Al Hilal (Sudan)
Still only one team that will be known today except for 90 percent will be CR Belouzdad of Algeria because they won with 3-1 away goals and today is the return game
Draw is done for 16 teams to be arranged in pot 4 if killa POT has 4 teams and the teams are arranged according to the position of the club for five seasons
Teams in the same Pot will not meet in the group stage but any team can be drawn against any team from another Pot
Considering the position of the club for the past five seasons, Simba will be Pot 2 while Yanga will be Pot 3, which means that Simba and Yanga can be arranged in the same group
Pot 1 will have the teams of Al Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns, Wydad Athletic and Esperance
Pot 2 will have the teams of Pyramids, Petro Atketico, CR Belouisdad and Simba
Pot 3 will have the teams of TP Mazembe, Asec Mimosas, Al Hilal and Yanga
Pot 4 will have the teams of Etoile Sahel, Jwaneng Galaxy, Fc Nouadhibou and Medeama
