VAR officials ban on Vin Jr incident

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has fired 6 VAR referees, including Referee Ignacio Iglesias Villanueva, who recommended Vinicius Junior to be sent off in the match between Valencia and Real Madrid

According to the media in Spain, the Federation was not happy with the performance of Villanueva who allegedly removed the photo that showed Valencia player Hugo Duro strangling Vini Jr from behind

Villanueva called the referee, Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea to satisfy himself on the VAR screen but the VAR showed the clip that showed Vini Jr hitting Hugo only in the face while the clip where Duro choked Vini Jr from behind was missing

After being satisfied, the referee issued a red card. Despite being harassed by verbal abuse and racism throughout the game, Vinicius Junior was shown a red card but Duro, who initiated the aggression, continued to stay on the field

Vinicius Junior mocked by clapping after the referee's decision and later repeated the gesture made by Hugo Duro for being choked from behind and questioned the fact that Duro was not penalized in the Mestalla match where Real Madrid lost 1-0 to hosts Valencia on Sunday .
