Manchester City have reached the final of the European Champions League by defeating Real Madrid 4-0 in their second leg of the semi-final of the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium
Bernardo Silva scored twice to put Pep Guardiola's side in control before Eder Militao and Julian Alvarez's late goal made it 5-1 on aggregate
Manchester City will face Inter Milan in the final which will be held in Istanbul on June 10
In front of the crowd of fans who showed up at the Etihad, Thibaut Courtois saved the first danger in the 13th minute, Erling Haaland's header following Jack Grealish's cross
Courtois was there again to stop Haaland in the 22nd minute. The Norwegian jumped higher and headed but Courtois was able to save the danger
However, Pep Guardiola's side took the lead a minute later courtesy of Bernardo Silva. Kevin De Bruyne moved Silva inside with a pass and the Portuguese striker put the ball into the net
Toni Kroos came close to equalizing moments later when his effort from distance hit the crossbar
But Silva was ready to score his second and City's goal of the game after 37 minutes
Ilkay Gundogan's effort was saved by Courtois and Silva was on hand to poke his header into the back of the net
Ederson did the job early in the second half when he cleared David Alaba's free-kick
City came back and made the result 3-0 15 minutes before the end of the game. De Bruyne's free kick was met by Manuel Akanji and his effort hit Eder Militao and entered the net
Julian Alvarez put the icing on the cake with a late goal to make it 4-0 on the night and 5-1 overall. Phil Foden, who came off the bench, played a brilliant pass into the path of Alvarez, who was calm, and analyzed Courtois
