Yanga Club has been fined a total of 35,000 Dollars by Caf which is more than Sh 82 million for various offenses allegedly committed in their quarter final match between them and Rivers United of Nigeria
The match was played on April 30 at Mkapa Stadium, in Dar es Salaam where Rivers made their complaint a day before the match after finishing their training at the stadium
Rivers United complained that the windows of their car were broken and 5000 dollars were stolen while they also claimed to have been drugged
The Ethics Committee of the Confederation of African Football (Caf), which met on May 4 this year, has fined Yanga for allegedly being involved in lighting torches and setting off fireworks on the field where the fine is 10,000 dollars
Another fine is $25,000 for allegedly spraying drugs on the team car they used at Rivers United during training
Caf has directed Yanga to pay the money within 60 days from the issuance of the penalty. In addition, Caf has given Yanga the opportunity to appeal within three days from the issuance of the penalty and if they fail to appeal within the indicative period then they will be required to pay the fine as instructed.
