Yanga has promised the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan that they will continue to fight in international competition and if possible reach the final with the aim of promoting Tanzania
This was said yesterday by the club's Information Officer, Ally Kamwe, when he was presented with a sum of Shs 10 million resulting from a 2-0 away win in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup against Rivers United of Nigeria
"We are grateful to our President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for carrying out her promise, we have received this money and in fact it has given us great motivation, we promise her to fly the flag of this country by reaching as far as possible to carry the Title," said Kamwe
Yanga will be at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium this Sunday against Rivers United and needs a draw or any victory to make history in the Semi-Finals of the tournament for Tanzanian teams
Meanwhile, Kamwe has asked Yanga fans to buy tickets in bulk to ensure they fill the Benjamin Mkapa stadium on Sunday in their game against Rivers United
Kamwesaid that it is a rare opportunity for football fans in the country to witness history of its kind being written by their club, so they should go to the field to be part of that memory that will last for many years
