Chelsea have confirmed the sacking of Graham Potter as manager of the club
A 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa, a result which leaves them 11th in the table, at Stamford Bridge on Saturday proved to be Potter's last game
Bruno Saltor will take the reins of the team as interim head coach as Chelsea's next match hosts Liverpool on Tuesday night.
Also, the club announcement suggested Potter could play a role in deciding who his permanent successor is.
"Chelsea FC has announced that Graham Potter has left the club. Graham has agreed to cooperate with the club to facilitate a swift transition"
"During his time with the club, Graham has taken us to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where we will face Real Madrid. Chelsea would like to thank Graham for all his efforts and contribution and wish him well for the future," said the Chelsea statement
