Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood will not return to the club until next season, it has been reported. Greenwood (21) has been suspended by his club since January 2022 when he was first charged with attempted rape and assault
He was arrested and charged, however, the charges were dismissed by the police
Greenwood's future is still unclear as Man United conduct an internal investigation.
The Daily Mail report that this 'will not be completed before the summer'' meaning Greenwood will not return this season
The report says that Man United refused to comment on anything. The report adds that the club 'will not be rushed to make a decision' and they continue to conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances of his arrest and his conduct outside the field.
Ethical, personal, financial and commercial issues surround Greenwood's case with Man United men's and women's team players reportedly worried about his possible return.
The Mail also say that there is division at the club with 'staff arguing he deserves a second chance, but business executives fear the potential damage to the brand
