Ruvu Shooting has conceded a 4-1 defeat against Mbeya Ciy in a friendly game played today at the Sokoine stadium in Mbeya with the aim of keeping the teams in a competitive state at this time when the league has break for the CAF calendar
Mbeya City is preparing for its quarter-final match of the federation cup, (ASFC) against Singida Big Stars to be played on April 2, while their Ruvu Shooting are hunting themselves against Tanzania Prisons in the premier league game to be played on April 9.
Maafande, who are in the bottom two positions in the league with 20 points, have set up camp in Mbeya
Mbeya City's goals were scored by Brown Mwankemwa in the 16th minute, Eliud Ambokile in the 22nd minute, Richardson Ng'ondya in the 77th minute and Baraka Mwalubanju in the 88th minute while Ruvu's consolation goal was scored by Mgandila Shaban in the 30th minute.
The head coach of Ruvu Shooting, Mbwana Makata said he needed the player to check the strength of his team one by one and that he continues to work on it before the next match
"The mistakes are still there, we missed a penalty but we are also tied, I continue to fight to make sure I correct the deficit so that we can win the next game and put ourselves in a good position," said Makata.
The assistant coach of Mbeya City, Anthony Mwamlima has said that the result gives them a boost in the hunt for the next quarter-final match against Singida BS and that this season after missing the top four places in the premier league, they are focusing on the ASFC.
