The president of the Yanga Sc Engineer Hersi Said has congratulated the fans and members for supporting their team at all times and now they have managed to reach the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup
Speaking after the 2-0 victory against US Monastir yesterday, Hersi said that it was not easy for them to achieve the success they achieved but the unity and cooperation from every Mwanyanga is part of the yeast of the success
Hersi said at first they set goals to play in the group stage and they succeeded, then they set goals to reach the quarters, they have succeeded now they aim to go further in the competition
"I am very grateful to the Yanga people for the strength they showed in supporting their team until we got this result, they were behind the team in good and bad results and now we have qualified to the Quarter Finals"
"The journey is not over yet, we can go further," said Hersi
Yanga leads group D with 10 points, the same as US Monastir but Yanga has a good ratio of goals scored and conceded compared to US Monastir
Yanga need to win the last game against TP Mazemba which will be played in DR Congo on April 02 to ensure they finish top of the group
