Robertinho happy of the win in Uganda

After picking up three points away from home against Vipers, Simba's head coach, Robertiho Oliveira, said a new formation helped them emerge victorious while explaining that the result has given new life to their plans to seek six points from two home games

Robertinho has expressed his satisfaction with the good performance of the players in the third game of the CAF Champions League against Vipers and managed to emerge with a 1-0 victory at St Mary's Stadium, Uganda

Simba's only goal was scored by defender Henock Inonga after a free kick by Mohamed Hussein 'Tshabalala' was headed by Sadio Kanoute then Moses Phiri before the scorer buried it into the net.

Speaking yesterday after returning from Uganda, Robertinho said what made him happy was the way they played as a team, especially in the second half, with the combination of young and experienced players being good.

"All week I was working to change the playing system and it has brought me positive results, I knew my old team has very good players, they play a 4-3-3 system and I have used 4-4-2, but I have used young players to attack like Kibu, Moses Phiri, we have scored one goal and lost two chances in the danger area, and I have tried to combine experienced players with young blood," said the coach

Robertinho said the good thing for them is to get a good result in an important game and return home with three points regardless of how many goals they have won.

"In the Champions League, especially in the group stage, victory is what is required, whether one, two or four, what is being looked at is three points.

"We have played well, we had a good combination, our method was to ensure that we get a win in the second half, our combination strengthened, the speed increased, contributed by young and experienced players," said Robertinho.

"The players have fought to the death in a tough game with great competition which has made us raise our hopes towards the next two games needing six points"
