Referees punished quietly

Chairman of the Referees Committee, Nassoro Amduni has confirmed the suspension of some referees due to various repeated offenses in the Premier League

He said that some of the suspended referees are on the verge of ending and will soon return to their duties after being retrained as one of the ways to improve their performance.

He made his statement after appearing on the internet stating that 20 referees, among them 13 referees, were removed from the list in the remaining league games and will not be there next season

"It is true that about 20 referees have met with the cane through the committee of the relevant authority for a different period and that is due to the mistakes that have led to the punishment"

"There are some who have been suspended from playing for a certain period of time, but there are others who have been removed from the schedule, so if you say they are suspended, it is the same even though they have different punishments, some six months, some three months," said Amduni.

He added that others after being removed have been returned to the referees' committee to rehabilitate them by being retrained and then they will be returned to the league but no referee has been suspended until next season.

"There are referees who have been removed until the end of the season, others three games and the next season, those are different things. For example, Arajiga (Ahmed) who was the best referee last season was suspended and is about to finish his punishment, so when he finishes we will re-cook him and bring him back again and these punishments are sustainable"

Despite not mentioning the names of the referees and their punishments, but the information that was spreading also mentions Emmanuel Mwandembwa, Hussen Athuman, Nassor Mwinchui, Florentino Zablon, Elly Sasii, Arajiga, Amina Kyando and Rafael Ikambi

The referees in the middle are Jackson Palangyo, Hence Mabena, Hilbert Marine, Ahmed Simba while the side referees are Mary Mwakitalama, Rashid Zongo, Hamis Chang’walu, Jesse Erasmo, Kassim Mapanga, Fredinand Chacha and Soud Lila
