The Information and Communications Manager of Simba, Ahmed Ally, has officially adopted the nickname ‘Nyapara’ following the Mainland Premier League match against Yanga.
The match, played yesterday on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar, was highly competitive, with Simba putting their rivals under intense pressure throughout the full 90 minutes.
Speaking shortly after the Simba squad returned to Dar es Salaam from Zanzibar, Ahmed said that from now on he should be referred to as ‘Nyapara,’ claiming he is the ‘Nyapara of Guantamo’ — a name Yanga used to promote the New Amaan Complex Stadium by comparing it to the famous Guantanamo prison.
"That Guantanamo, I am the Nyapara there. So when they were boasting about going to Guantamo, I, the owner of the prison, said let those kids come."
"But after they entered Guantamo, I found that they were the ones who became prison food. They believed Zanzibar was a safe place for them, but we knew Zanzibar is a tough place and we would go there and punish them," Ahmed boasted.
