Simba Sports Club has officially announced a partnership with Mainstream Group, in collaboration with Nexus Pesa, to produce official membership cards for Simba members.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Simba Board Chairman Crescentius Magori said that Mainstream Group will develop a modern and advanced card system and has selected Nexus Pesa to issue the membership cards.
Vice Chairman of the Board, Murtaza Mangungu, stated that the issuance of the cards will follow Simba’s constitution, with branch registrations expected to begin soon so that members can be registered through their respective branches.
“We have entered into an agreement with our partners Mainstream Group and Nexus Pesa. The issuance of the cards will follow Simba’s constitution, starting from branch level up to the club headquarters. This is the right time for members, especially at branch level, and we will begin branch registrations very soon,” said Mangungu.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Mainstream Group Managing Director Deogratius Mosha said they will create a user-friendly system that will enable members to be properly identified and receive their membership cards.
“We have signed this agreement to develop a system that will allow members to be recognized and issued with their membership cards. One thing we promise is that it will be a user-friendly system that anyone can use.”
“Through this Simba system, we will enable members to register and also help Simba access important data. Our company has been operating in Tanzania for over 10 years, providing major systems for banks and telecommunications companies. We consider it an honor to work with Simba.”
“The systems have already been developed to meet these needs, and the goal is for every Simba member, wherever they are, to receive their card without additional costs. We will provide two types of cards: a virtual card and a physical card. It is a unique system unprecedented in the African region,” said Mosha.
Mangungu added that the official issuance of the membership cards is scheduled to begin on March 27, 2026. Preparations are currently underway to ensure all procedures are completed in accordance with legal requirements.
“We have planned to start issuing the cards on March 27, 2026. We are doing this because there are many processes and institutions involved in preparing for the rollout,” he said.
In addition to serving as membership identification, the cards will also be integrated into the banking system, allowing members to withdraw money from ATMs.
“This will function as a Visa card. Besides identifying you as a Simba member, you will also be able to deposit money, make payments, and carry out transactions,” Magori added.
