The Deputy Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports, Hamis Mwinjuma (Mwana FA), has said that despite the many discussions surrounding the constitutional changes of Simba Sports Club, the Government will not interfere with the decisions made by the members.
Mwana FA made these remarks today at Simba’s Annual General Meeting held at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam, while delivering his speech on behalf of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania.
“Let me emphasize one thing: the Government does not force any club in the country to do what it wants; decisions belong solely to the members.”
“What is most important is to consider and respect the interests of the members, sponsors, and to meet the legal requirements in accordance with the guidelines of our Government,” Mwana FA said.
He further added that the Government cannot give any directives to pressure any matter, except through the decisions made by the members themselves, which are the ones that produce positive outcomes.
“Simba is a major institution, so I urge you, my colleagues, to ensure that the constitutional amendments are done calmly and in the broad interest of the members,” he said.
Additionally, during the meeting, along with members being presented with last year's income and expenditure report, Simba announced its budget for the 2025/26 financial year—approximately TSh 29,555,207,704, with projected expenditures amounting to TSh 27,161,824,254.
