The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has confirmed that the Community Shield match between Yanga and Simba will be played on Tuesday, September 16, at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM local time.
This marks the third consecutive season that Simba and Yanga will face each other in the Community Shield. However, unlike last season, this year’s edition will revert to a single-match format, as it used to be in the past.
Last season, the two sides met in the semifinals of the tournament, which featured four teams. In the 2023/24 season, when Simba won the title, the archrivals clashed in the final, with Simba triumphing 3-1 on penalties after a goalless draw.
