Libyan giants Al Ittihad have officially submitted a $1 million (approx. TZS 2.5 billion) bid to sign Simba SC’s Ugandan striker, Steven Mukwala.
Sources indicate that Al Ittihad had earlier offered $700,000, but Simba rejected the proposal, insisting that the player’s value was much higher. The Libyan side has now returned with an improved offer, signaling their strong intent to land the forward.
Although Simba SC has not yet issued an official response, it is reported that Mukwala has already reached personal terms with Al Ittihad. This leaves Simba’s management with a pressing decision to make, especially with the transfer window set to close tomorrow, Sunday.
If Simba agree to release Mukwala, they will be forced to act quickly—within 24 hours—to secure a suitable replacement before the window shuts, in order to maintain firepower in their attack.
Mukwala, who joined Simba from Ghana’s Asante Kotoko, has been an influential figure in the squad. Despite Simba signing new forwards Jonathan Sowah and Selemani Mwalimu during this window, the Ugandan remains a key player for the Msimbazi Reds.
