After nearly three days of rest, Simba SC resumed camp yesterday to prepare for Simba Day, but more importantly to focus on their clash against Yanga in the Community Shield on September 16, as well as their CAF Champions League ties against Gaborone United.
According to information from within the club, after entering camp yesterday, the squad will not have any breaks until they play the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round against Gaborone United on September 20 in Botswana.
"Immediately after we arrived, Coach Fadlu Davids gave the players some rest because they had undergone four weeks of intense training," said a club insider.
"He allowed them to visit their families, but today (yesterday) we are back in camp, training as usual at Mo Arena Bunju. From here, there will be no rest until we play the three crucial matches ahead of us," the source added.
Simba will face Kenyaβs Gor Mahia on September 10 in the climax of Simba Day at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam. Beyond the entertainment, members will also get the chance to meet their 2025/26 squad, including the new signings.
The team will then face their traditional rivals Yanga on September 16 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in the Community Shield, which ushers in the new Tanzanian Premier League season set to kick off on September 17.
After that, the squad will travel to Botswana for the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary tie against Gaborone United on September 20, with the return leg scheduled for September 26 in Dar es Salaam.
