Simba striker Steven Mukwala has expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for the upcoming 2025/26 season, following a four-week pre-season camp in Cairo, Egypt.
The team returned to Dar es Salaam early Friday morning, with Mukwala highlighting the positive impact of their training and friendly matches.
“Pre-season in Egypt was very good. We had enough time to prepare and also played several friendlies,” he said shortly after arriving at Julius Nyerere International Airport. “We are back safe, and all I can say is we are ready to fight for Simba’s badge this season.”
Looking ahead to the Community Shield clash against rivals Yanga on September 16 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, the Ugandan forward remained optimistic.
“I’ve faced Yanga twice before, but this time I believe it’s our turn to win because there are no more excuses. I know it will be a tough game, but we’ll give everything to secure victory,” Mukwala added.
