Simba right-back Shomari Kapombe has been included in the CHAN 2024 Team of the Week for the tournament currently taking place in East Africa—Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
Kapombe, who plays for the Tanzania national team ‘Taifa Stars,’ has been in outstanding form in the competition, playing all 270 minutes of the three matches Stars have played—winning all of them and collecting 9 points.
The new Simba captain has also scored one goal in the tournament, placing himself on the scorers’ list.
Stars have qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition with one group-stage match remaining against the Central African Republic on Saturday, August 16.
Kapombe, Abdulrazak Hamza, and Yusuph Kagoma are part of the Stars squad determined to win the tournament’s title.
