Guinean defensive midfielder Balla Moussa Conte appears ready to join Tanzanian football giants Simba SC, with reports indicating that he may push for a transfer from his current club, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia.
Simba previously attempted to sign Conte during the mid-season transfer window, but the deal failed to materialize. The midfielder impressed the club’s officials and head coach Fadlu Davids with his strong performances during the CAF Confederation Cup group stage matches against the Msimbazi Reds.
Among the list of defensive midfielders presented to coach Fadlu, Conte ranks very high. However, the main obstacle remains the fact that he is still under contract with Sfaxien, a club that is currently reluctant to release him.
Reliable sources have indicated that Conte is keen on joining Simba and is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to ensure the move happens. Since the arrival of new coach Lassaad Dridi at Sfaxien, Conte has struggled to get regular playing time, further fueling his desire for a new challenge.
Currently, Simba is quietly continuing negotiations with the player’s representatives. The possibility of Conte arriving in Msimbazi remains open, especially considering the player’s willingness and Simba’s evident interest in strengthening their squad.
