Tanzania’s Simba SC has entered the transfer market in search of a replacement for veteran midfielder Fabrice Ngoma, who was recently released. As part of this effort, the name of promising midfielder Higino Epalanga Kapitango from Angola’s Bravos do Maquis has already been tabled before the Msimbazi club’s top management.
Kapitango (22), who impressed many with his consistent performances in the CAF Confederation Cup last season, was one of the standout players for Bravos during the competition, despite the team finishing third in their group and failing to reach the quarter-finals.
The midfielder, known for his accurate passes and powerful long-range shots, is considered one of the key players at Bravos do Maquis, despite his young age.
Reliable sources from within the club have revealed that Simba has already initiated formal talks with Kapitango’s agent as an initial step toward finalizing the deal.
The club’s technical bench reportedly believes that Kapitango can bring a new dynamic to Simba’s midfield, adding pace and sharpness in the central area.
Simba is expected to sign two midfielders during this summer transfer window to fill the void left by Ngoma as well as Augustine Okejepha, who is also currently listed for transfer.
