As the 2024/25 Premier League season nears its end, a remarkable record has been set within the Simba SC squad — and this time, it’s not by a striker or midfielder, but by their number one goalkeeper, Moussa Camara.
The international goalkeeper from Guinea has etched his name in the record books by matching Aishi Manula’s record for the most clean sheets in a single Tanzanian Premier League season.
In the match played on June 22, 2025, at the KMC Complex against Kagera Sugar, Camara once again demonstrated his prowess in goal. The match ended with a 1-0 victory for Simba, thanks to a 17th-minute goal by Steven Mukwala.
Despite pressure from the opponents, Camara made two crucial saves — one in the 24th minute from Kagera’s Momo and another in the 42nd minute from Mahundi.
Thanks to his excellent performance, Camara secured his 19th clean sheet of the season — equaling the record set by Aishi Manula during the 2017/18 season when he was Simba’s first-choice goalkeeper.
This achievement makes Camara the first goalkeeper since Manula to reach that milestone, and he now leads the clean sheet chart this season, surpassing Yanga SC’s Djigui Diarra, who has 16.
This record highlights not only Camara’s individual brilliance but also the strength of Simba’s defensive line under coach Fadlu Davids. It is a commendable accomplishment for a player who has consistently shown composure, experience, and bravery in critical matches.
