Simba SC attacking midfielder, Kibu Denis, emerged as the hero at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora after leading his team to a dominant 5-0 victory over Ken Gold in yesterday’s NBC Premier League match.
Kibu was in sensational form – he scored two of Simba’s five goals and was named Man of the Match after an electrifying 90 minutes. This match further confirmed that this is a standout season for the star midfielder.
So far, Kibu has netted four goals in the league and contributed three assists, a clear sign of his significant improvement compared to the past two seasons. He is in peak form and playing a vital role for Simba's squad.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, Kibu Denis was Simba’s top scorer, netting four goals and helping the team reach the final of the prestigious continental competition.
One of his goals in the CAF CC has been shortlisted for the Goal of the Season award, competing alongside his teammate Elie Mpanzu.
His outstanding performances have not gone unnoticed by football enthusiasts, with South African giants Kaizer Chiefs reportedly making a move to sign him. However, Simba’s management has stood firm: “It’s not the right time.”
