As they prepare for the upcoming domestic and international competitions, Simba SC has begun reshaping their attacking lineup, with their sights now set on Côte d'Ivoire, targeting the dynamic ASEC Mimosas forward, Celestin Ecua.
Reports from within the club indicate that Simba has entered formal negotiations with Ecua’s representatives. The 23-year-old striker is currently on loan at ASEC from Zoman FC.
Simba head coach Fadlu Davids is reportedly impressed with Ecua’s abilities and has approved the club’s efforts to bring him to Msimbazi as part of an offensive reinforcement plan.
Since joining ASEC in January 2025, Ecua has had an impressive run, finishing the season with seven goals and four assists in the Ivorian Premier League, helping his team secure second place.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, Ecua further proved his worth by scoring two goals as ASEC reached the quarter-finals before being eliminated by RS Berkane.
The forward is not only effective centrally but also possesses the ability to operate from the flanks as a winger. This positional versatility is one of the main attributes attracting Fadlu, who has struggled to find a multi-functional striker for his squad.
Ecua ended the season as ASEC’s second top scorer behind Salifou Diarrassouba, who netted eight goals. Simba is determined to sign him as part of their strategy to bolster their attacking force ahead of next season’s CAF Champions League campaign.
