Yanga management have announced that the case involving player Israel Patrick Mwenda has been concluded following a ruling by the Legal and Players’ Status Committee directing him to return to his place of work and comply with the sanctions and instructions issued.
Yanga’s Head of Information and Communications, Ali Kamwe, said the club considered it important to submit Mwenda’s case to the relevant committee for review and a decision in accordance with established procedures.
Speaking to journalists at the club’s headquarters in Jangwani, Kamwe said the committee had completed its work and that the player is now expected to resume his duties and continue fulfilling his contract with Yanga.
“According to the committee’s statement, player Israel Patrick Mwenda has been instructed to return to his place of work and comply with the sanctions and directives issued by the committee,” Kamwe said.
He added that the club’s management expects Mwenda to continue contributing to the team and bringing joy to the supporters, as had been expected of him.
Kamwe said he decided to clarify the matter after photographs of the player circulated in recent days, prompting questions among supporters about his future at the club.
He stressed that the case had been handled through the relevant committee’s official procedures and that the next step is for the player to return to work in accordance with the conditions set out in the ruling.
