Yanga SC head coach Manqoba Mngqithi will remain in his position after the club’s management decided against making changes to the technical bench for now.
The decision comes amid growing pressure from supporters calling for changes to the coaching staff following Yanga’s 2-1 defeat to Simba SC in the Kariakoo Derby on October 10, 2026.
The club’s decision gives Mngqithi an opportunity to correct his team's shortcomings in the upcoming matches, while the team's performance will continue to be closely monitored.
Yanga’s upcoming CAF Champions League qualifying matches against Madagascar’s CFFA could determine the South African coach’s future, particularly the first leg scheduled for this Saturday at Azam Complex.
Yanga’s leadership believes that losing to Simba alone is not sufficient reason to dismiss Mngqithi. In his first encounter against Simba, the coach guided Wananchi to a 1-0 victory and the Community Shield title.
For now, Yanga have shifted their focus to the CAF Champions League, with the primary objective of securing qualification for the group stage.
