Yanga head coach Manqoba Mngqithi says attacking midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki is continuing to improve as he follows a special training programme before being cleared to play competitively.
There has been significant anticipation among Yanga fans to see Aziz Ki in action following his move from Libyan club Al Ittihad.
Mngqithi said the player did not have a pre-season, meaning he cannot be rushed into action before reaching the required match fitness level, in order to minimise the risk of injury.
"Aziz Ki is currently at 4/10 in terms of his readiness. He did not have a pre-season, so he has only just started training. We have to prepare him properly before using him because we know he will be a very important player for our squad this season."
"I cannot rush him into playing and then have him suffer an injury, so I do not expect to see him play in the next two matches before the Champions League," Mngqithi said.
Speaking about striker Clement Mzize, Mngqithi said the forward continues to make progress and is expected to return to action within a month.
Regarding preparations for tomorrow's Premier League match against Pamba Jiji at KMC Complex, Mngqithi said they know they will face a defensively strong side that can also pose a threat through counter-attacks.
However, Yanga have prepared to make good use of home advantage, while Mngqithi has urged the Wananchi to turn out in large numbers and support their players.
