Yanga Head of Information and Communications Ali Kamwe has declared that the club's sixth signing will be its biggest acquisition of the current transfer window.
Kamwe also dismissed speculation linking Yanga with midfielder Morice Chukwu, insisting that the player the club has signed is someone else.
"Our sixth signing is the biggest signing we've made this season. Everything has already been finalized—the only thing left is the official unveiling. To those mentioning Morice Chukwu, I want to assure you that he is not the player we're talking about. Our signing has already been completed," Kamwe said.
"The recruitment we've carried out this season reflects the standards we've set for ourselves. We are aiming to achieve something special, and this season we're not here to joke around," he added.
Kamwe also revealed that Yanga's sponsor, GSM, has spent more than TSh 15 billion during this transfer window to strengthen the squad with top-quality players.
"When planning this season's transfer budget, our president, Eng. Hersi, asked our sponsor GSM how we should approach player recruitment. GSM simply replied, 'Find the players—I will provide the money.'"
"Ghalib Said Mohamed allocated a budget of TSh 15 billion solely for signing players. There was even one player who spoke with GSM a few days ago and initially hesitated, but we were determined to bring him to Yanga because of the financial backing provided by our sponsor," Kamwe said.
