Angolan club Wiliete Sports Club officially confirmed the signing of former Yanga attacking midfielder Buba Jammeh yesterday. The Gambian winger joined the club as a free agent after signing a one-year contract.
Jammeh, who joined Yanga during the January transfer window, was unable to convince the Tanzanian champions' management to retain him beyond the end of the season.
It is understood that Yanga and the player reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, allowing him to leave the club as a free agent.
Buba is among several foreign players Yanga have decided to part ways with during the current transfer window.
Other foreign players who will not be part of the club's squad next season include Chadrack Boka, Lassine Kouma, and Prince Dube, who has already returned to his native Zimbabwe.
Defender Frank Assink has also left after returning to his parent club, Singida BS, following the expiration of his season-long loan spell.
Attacking midfielder Pacome Zouzoua will not be registered for the upcoming season as he continues to recover from a serious leg injury sustained during Yanga's final match of last season against JKT Tanzania.
The foreign players confirmed to remain at Yanga for the new season are goalkeeper Djigui Diarra, defenders Yao Kouassi and Maxi Nzengeli, midfielders Duke Abuya and Allan Okello, and forward Laurindo Aurellio "Depu."
