Tanzania Premier League champions Yanga SC are reportedly in the final stages of completing the signing of Fountain Gate FC winger Juma Abushiri, popularly known as Chuga Boy, in what is shaping up to be one of the most eye-catching deals of the current transfer window.
According to reports, Chuga Boy had already secured an opportunity to travel to Belgian club Gent for a trial, with his trip initially scheduled to begin on August 12, 2026.
However, Yanga has stepped in during the final stages by presenting the player with an attractive offer, including a three-year contract. Personal terms are reportedly already agreed, although the club must still reach an agreement with Fountain Gate FC over the transfer fee.
Chuga Boy has emerged as one of Tanzania's fastest-rising talents thanks to his pace, creativity, dribbling ability, and confidence in taking on defenders from the wings.
The signing is part of Yanga's strategy to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season. In addition to defending its domestic titles, the club is aiming for a stronger campaign in continental competitions.
Yanga is particularly focused on reinforcing its wide attacking options after facing challenges in those positions during the recently concluded season.
