Yanga Communications Manager Ali Kamwe has described club president Engineer Hersi Said as potentially the most successful football administrator in Tanzanian history.
According to Kamwe, during his four years in office, Hersi has guided the Wananchi to a remarkable total of 15 domestic trophies.
On the continental stage, Hersi has also overseen Yanga's qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage in three consecutive seasons.
Before this achievement, no Tanzanian club had ever reached the CAF Champions League group stage three years in a row.
Kamwe said what once seemed impossible became reality after Yanga members entrusted Hersi with the club's leadership. He added that during Hersi's tenure, Yanga also earned a historic CAF silver medal after finishing as runners-up in the CAF Confederation Cup, losing the final on the away goals rule.
Kamwe concluded by praising Hersi's leadership, noting that even in a season when Yanga were widely perceived to have faced significant challenges, the club still finished the campaign by winning four trophies.
