Young midfielder Abdulnassir Mohammed “Casemiro” is among the signings made by Yanga in this transfer window.
Casemiro, who emerged as the Best Young Player in last season’s Zanzibar Premier League, joined Yanga from Mlandege FC.
When the defensive midfielder was signed alongside defender Abubakar Nizar Othman “Ninju,” both players were initially considered young prospects who would need time to develop before being fully utilized in the first team.
However, due to the impressive performances they have been showing in training at the KMC Complex, Yanga Head Coach Romain Folz and his technical bench have been convinced to include them in the first team squad, where they will compete with other players for places in the lineup.
Casemiro has been especially captivating—even to his teammates—some of whom have admitted that the youngster possesses great talent and could surprise many when the season begins.
“This boy really knows football, he works hard, he fights for every ball, and he has a great ability to pass and follow up for the second ball. If he continues with this discipline, this is a huge talent,” midfielder Maxi Nzengeli told Yanga TV.
Goalkeeper Djigui Diarra has also been impressed by the youngster, often seen giving him technical guidance to further improve his game.
