Yanga SC Head Coach Romain Folz has expressed pride in joining a prestigious club like Yanga, which he described as a team with a unique history on the African continent.
Folz said Yanga is one of Africa’s biggest clubs, backed by a massive fanbase, and its appeal made it easy for him to accept the offer to join the Tanzanian Premier League champions, who have won the league title for four consecutive seasons.
"I’m very happy to be here. If I had to explain why I chose this club, it’s because of its status, its history, and most of all, the strong support from fans," he said.
"The passion and attraction of Yanga SC are more than enough to convince any coach to want to be part of this club."
Folz acknowledged the challenge ahead, stating that the size and history of the club demand success and winning titles.
"Without a doubt, we must deliver the best results. That’s expected when you're at a big club with such high standards," he noted.
"But we also want to entertain our fans. I will make sure they enjoy what they see from us and come out in large numbers to support the team."
"We want to make sure they are proud and excited about what they witness from us on the pitch."
Folz emphasized that Yanga should play like a top team, and his responsibility is to create an environment where the team can reach its full potential.
"I like attractive football. I want us to dominate the game both with and without the ball. We’ll try to force our opponents to play the way we want them to," he explained.
"I believe we’ll have a great balance because my football philosophy aligns perfectly with the expectations here."
