The signing of Malian attacking midfielder Lassine Kouma (21), currently playing for Stade Malien, appears to conclude Yanga’s foreign player acquisitions for this transfer window.
It is reported that goalkeeper Djigui Diarra played a key role in ensuring Kouma joined Yanga. The Stade Malien captain was approached by Kouma, who sought insight into Tanzanian football and Simba SC, which was also close to signing him.
Diarra then took initiative and contacted Yanga President Eng. Hersi Said to recommend the midfielder, who was also being monitored by Sudan’s Al Hilal, ultimately persuading him to join Yanga.
Kouma’s arrival brings the total number of foreign players signed by Yanga in this window to five.
The other new foreign signings include Moussa Balla Conte, Celestine Ecua, Mohammed Doumbia, and Andy Boyeli.
Five foreign players have made way for these new signings: Kennedy Musonda, Clatous Chama, Stephane Aziz Ki, Khalid Aucho, and Jonathan Ikangalombo — with the club reportedly in final negotiations to part ways with the latter.
