Leaders, members and fans of the Yanga Bukoba Branch in Kagera Region have met to support the statement of the team's Executive Committee that they will not play a match against Simba again
The Premier League match number 184 was supposed to be played on March 8, 2025 but was not held due to Simba's strike after being informed that they were prevented from training with Yanga's bouncers a day before the match at Mkapa Stadium
The Secretary of the Yanga Branches in Kagera Region Jamali Kalumuna led the stakeholders to open a joint statement that they no longer want a rematch, instead they are requesting the Premier League Board and TFF to give Yanga 3 points and 3 goals in accordance with the rules
"First of all, we are joining the executive committee through Yanga President Injinia Hersi that together all the branches in Kagera Region will not play, what we need is to be given our points and our three goals because the postponement of the game did not follow the rules," said Kalumuna
Peter Matete, a member of the Yanga Bukoba Branch, said it is good that the rules are observed, adding that it is not safe for football matters to follow the rules and advised that any team that does not follow the rules regardless of the size of the team should be deducted points and that will help maintain the respect of football in the country and raise the status of the Tanzanian league
