Yesterday Yanga was in Mbeya region to face Tanzania Prisons in the NBC Premier League game in which the Citizens managed to win 2-1 and strengthen themselves at the top of the league standings after reaching 40 points
In the squad that was supposed to start, the name of striker Kennedy Musonda was among those who should have played the game
However, Yanga Head Coach Miguel Gamondi had to make an emergency change, removing Musonda and replacing him with Farid Mussa
This is after Musonda was afflicted with the eye disease 'red eyes' which caused him to have poor vision
"Musonda was challenged by an eye disease. At first we believed he would be able to play the game but shortly before the match we realized that the condition would bother him"
"I'm glad he's doing well and he'll probably be fine in the next game (against KMC)," said Gamondi
Yanga returned to Dar es Salaam from Mbeya earlier today where the Citizens will have three days to prepare for the next game against KMC
