The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fined Yanga $ 5,000 for allegedly violating some of the rules and regulations of CAF during the Champions League match against Rivers United of Nigeria
The penalty was handed down by the CAF Disciplinary Committee following a complaint by the Rivers United about some of their officials being harassed by the stadium guards (Stewards) and some fans entering the stadium during the game which was supposed to be played without fans. p>
But if you follow up closely you will notice in the irregularities identified by the CAF, Yanga is not directly responsible
Yanga is not responsible for the defense of the stadium, does not test Covid 19, does not have the authority to allow fans to enter the stadium and even on the day of the match, they issued a statement apologizing to fans after CAF denied them them oppurtunity to get fan in the Stadiums
TFF is responsible for all matters along with the owners of the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
And even if you look at the CAF report, you will see TFF have been warned for the emergence of various incidents unrelated to the Yanga and Rivers match that have been complained by various clubs that came to play in Tanzania
In short Yanga has been punished for offenses that were probably committed in the past and others were committed without them having direct management authority
