Yesterday Yanga lost a crucial Champions League match at home to a 1-0 loss to Rivers United in a game played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
It was a result that hurt Yanga fans to the point where some even questioned coach Nasreddine Nabi's decision to exclude some players while others questioned the type of 'sub' he did in the game
As the game drew to a close, Nabi brought in Yusufu Athumani to replace Heritier Makambo who had been injured while Saido Ntibazonkiza came in to replace Zawadi Mauya
Earlier he introduced Ditram Nchimbi to replace Yacouba Songne
Saido appeared to be a major contributor in the few minutes he played leading many to question why he had not been used since early?
Speaking to reporters after the game, Nabi said to him that the one who changed the game was Yusuf and he had good reasons not to include Saido early
"Yusuf (Athumani) changed the game, his entry was more advantageous in the offensive line than Saido"
"Saido plays the role that Fei Toto is in. If you are a coach can you replace Fei Toto for Saido?"
"Due to age reasons, Saido cannot play 90 minutes, the game required youngsters who could do a lot more on the field," said Nabi
He also mentioned that the main reason why his team did not get good results in the game was that the preparation was not enough
"We didn't have enough time to practice together, we have a good team and we can go and get results in Nigeria"
Nabi has been blamed by many for the type of squad he used in that important game at home
Not using experienced players like Yannick Bangala as well as making changes to replace Yacouba Songne with Ditram Nchimbi is one of the decisions that surprised many
