Newly appointed Young Africans (Yanga) head coach Fadlu Davids has made his ambition clear, declaring that he wants to lead the club to CAF Champions League glory. He stressed that his objective is not simply to participate in the competition but to fight for the biggest prize in African club football.
Davids made the statement shortly after arriving in Tanzania and being officially unveiled as Yanga’s new head coach. Speaking to journalists at the airport, he expressed confidence in the quality of the squad he has inherited, saying he believes the team has enough resources to compete for major honours.
“We want the African club championship,” Davids said, clearly outlining his ambitions as he begins a new chapter in charge of Yanga.
His remarks reflect the scale of his ambitions as he takes charge at Jangwani, hoping to make history in continental football. In his view, the quality of players currently in the squad is one of the key strengths that will help him implement his plans.
However, Davids faces a major task in blending his football philosophy with the abilities of the players, particularly given the intense competition among clubs participating in the CAF Champions League.
