Newly appointed Young Africans (Yanga) head coach Fadlu Davids has made his ambition clear, declaring his intention to restore the club to the top of the Tanzanian Premier League while insisting that nothing is impossible as they pursue the CAF Champions League title this season.
Speaking in his first interview since being officially unveiled by the historic Tanzanian champions, Davids expressed confidence in the quality of the squad he has inherited. He said he believes Yanga have players with the ability and quality to achieve the club’s objectives in both domestic and international competitions.
Regarding the Tanzanian Premier League, the coach stressed that one of his main priorities is to ensure Yanga return to the top of the league standings. His remarks underline the importance of restoring the team’s competitiveness in the domestic title race as part of his initial plans.
However, Davids also looked beyond domestic ambitions, sending a confident message about Yanga’s CAF Champions League campaign by declaring that anything is possible. His statement has raised expectations among supporters who are eager to see the club achieve greater success in Africa’s premier club competition.
Davids’ experience in Tanzanian football could prove valuable in his new assignment, as this marks his second return to the country to coach one of its major clubs, having previously managed Simba SC. He therefore already has an understanding of the local football environment and the level of competition faced by the country’s top clubs.
