DR Congo giants TP Mazembe have been forced to change hotels in Tunis, Tunisia, after supporters allegedly linked to Club Africain caused disturbances outside the hotel where the team was staying overnight.
The supporters allegedly carried out the acts in an attempt to disrupt TP Mazembe players’ rest ahead of the second leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. However, the allegations require further confirmation from the relevant authorities.
The incident occurred as TP Mazembe continued preparations for the crucial encounter, with the team needing a victory after drawing 1-1 in the first leg played in Lubumbashi on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The result makes the return fixture important for both sides as they battle for a place in the next round.
Following the incident, TP Mazembe’s management decided to relocate the team to ensure the players have a calm environment in which to rest and prepare for the match. Reports also indicate that a complaint has been submitted to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding the incident.
The second-leg encounter between TP Mazembe and Club Africain is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Radès, Tunisia.
