The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has fined Simba SC TSh 10 million following misconduct by the club’s supporters during their NBC Premier League match against Young Africans, which Simba won 2-1.
According to a statement issued by the TPLB, the fine relates to Match No. 056 of the 2026/2027 season, during which Simba supporters were reported to have thrown bottles onto the pitch on more than one occasion.
The match was played at Pamba Jiji Stadium. The sanction was imposed under Rule 48:1 of the Premier League regulations, which concerns Club Control.
The rule addresses clubs’ responsibility to ensure discipline among their supporters, officials and players, as well as to prevent conduct that could disrupt the safety and smooth running of matches.
Under this rule, clubs are expected to ensure their supporters comply with stadium regulations and refrain from misconduct, including throwing bottles onto the pitch, invading the playing area or engaging in violence.
Clubs may therefore face disciplinary action when they fail to meet their obligations under the relevant regulations.
The TSh 10 million fine comes despite Simba SC’s 2-1 victory over their traditional rivals, Young Africans.
The sanction highlights the importance of maintaining discipline among supporters and ensuring safety at football grounds.
