The first-leg match between 15 de Agosto and Simba SC in the battle to qualify for the CAF Champions League (CAFCL) group stage has been postponed by one day. It will now take place on October 21 at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, kicking off at 3:00 p.m.
The change was confirmed by Simba's Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, who said 15 de Agosto had submitted a request to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after failing to secure the flight that was expected to bring the team to Tanzania on time.
Match to Be Played Behind Closed Doors
In another development, the match will be played without spectators after 15 de Agosto insisted that fans should not be allowed into the stadium to watch the encounter.
This means the first leg will take place without fans in the stands, with both teams expected to focus on securing a positive result that will strengthen their chances of reaching the group stage.
Simba to Host Second Leg on October 25
The return leg is scheduled for October 25 at Uhuru Stadium, the same venue that will host the first encounter.
Unlike the first leg, Simba will be the home team this time, and fans are expected to be allowed into the stadium to watch the match.
For Simba, these two encounters are crucial in their quest to secure a place in the CAFCL group stage.
