Young Africans SC have suffered a setback after Kenyan midfielder Duke Abuya was ruled out for an estimated two to three weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained during the Kariakoo Derby against Simba SC on October 10, 2026.
Yanga Media and Communications Manager Ally Shaban Kamwe said a medical assessment had established that Abuya would need that period to recover. Kamwe provided the update while discussing the condition of the squad, which had returned to training at the Avic Town training centre.
According to Kamwe, Abuya is the only player currently missing training because of an injury, while the rest of the squad continue preparations without any reported medical concerns.
The midfielder’s absence comes as Yanga prepare for important fixtures in the Tanzanian Premier League and the CAF Champions League. His injury will require head coach Manqoba Mngqithi to identify a suitable replacement as the team seeks to maintain positive results in both competitions.
