Simba SC Head of Information and Communications, Ahmed Ally, alongside Haji Manara, have appeared to defend Young Africans (Yanga) head coach Manqoba Mngqithi following his team’s 2-1 defeat to Simba in the Kariakoo Derby.
The result has sparked debate among football fans about Yanga’s performance and how the technical bench managed the team during the highly competitive encounter.
Haji Manara has advised Yanga’s management against making a hasty decision to sack head coach Manqoba Mngqithi following the defeat to Simba SC in the Kariakoo Derby.
Manara also said it is not advisable to dismiss a coach after such a short period in charge of a team.
He stressed that Mngqithi should be given the opportunity to continue his work until the end of the season so that the results of his efforts can be properly assessed.
According to Manara, Yanga’s management needs to exercise patience and give the coach enough time to build the team, implement his playing philosophy and demonstrate his ability through match results.
His remarks come at a time when the derby defeat has sparked debate among fans about Yanga’s performance and Mngqithi’s future at the club.
However, Manara believes that giving the coach more time could provide a clearer picture of his abilities and the results of his work before the club’s management makes a decision about his future.
