Young Africans (Yanga) have secured a 2-1 victory over JKT Tanzania in a friendly match played at Gymkhana Grounds in Dar es Salaam as part of the team’s preparations for upcoming fixtures in the 2026/27 season.
The match was also part of the technical bench’s programme to keep the players in competitive shape ahead of the Kariakoo Derby against Simba on October 10.
Yanga’s goals were scored by Clement Mzize and Cheikh Touré, with the victory giving the technical bench another opportunity to give players valuable playing time and assess the squad’s readiness before returning to competitive action.
Yanga entered the preparations with an impressive record in the Tanzanian Premier League, having won all six of their opening matches, scoring 16 goals and conceding just two.
Yanga will now turn their attention to the Kariakoo Derby against Simba, scheduled for October 10, 2026, at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, with the friendly against JKT Tanzania forming part of their preparations for the clash with their traditional rivals.
